Meet Grace
Artist's Statement/Bio
Several years ago I came to reside in Sebastian, Florida via Long Island, Canada, and Poland. I studied Business Administration at Miami Dade College and completed All State Construction College obtaining a State Of Florida General Contractor’s License. I owned and operated construction firm and built many homes in the Sebastian area.
My education in Interior Design graduating from Sheffield School Of Interior Design NY, NY gave me the opportunity to work as an Interior Decorator in Canada, NY, and Florida. Art was always a big part of my life. Since a young child, I’ve learned how to create with textiles, paint on canvas, and to convert a simple shoe box into a fabulous interior of my own imaginary living room. The day I retired I committed myself to create art without restrictions and let my imagination take me to unfamiliar places of artistic desires. My mind exploded with unique and beautiful ideas. Today I challenge myself with multiple mediums. Painting is my passion but I also entered the fascinating world of Fiber Arts. Japanese Boro- Art in mending and restoring textiles with Sashiko hand stitching. And Wabi Sabi- Japanese aesthetics in “Rustic elegance, impermanence, simplicity, and beauty of imperfection”.
Grace is an award-winning artist recognized in the local and statewide gallery scene in the world of fiber and textile art but also selling internationally shipping to London, England and many Provinces of Canada. We are pleased to introduce her work for your pleasure.
